Mayor Joe Collins is a Franklin native and local attorney. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1973 and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1977. He received his law degree from Campbell University School of Law in 1987. Mayor Collins has been the Mayor of Franklin since 2003. Prior to that he was a town Alderman from 1997 to 2003. Warren Cabe has been Town Manager since March of 2013. Warren is a Macon County native and graduated from Franklin High School in 1989. He attended Mars Hill College and graduated with a degree in Management in 1993. He is the former Macon County EMS Director and will serve a dual role as Town Manager and Franklin Fire Chief until a replacement Fire Chief is hired. Warren and his wife Diana have one son, Clint.
